Cahall felt there was a growing need for a third-party company that could provide light manufacturers with cost-effective packaging products and services.

Aided by his wife, Martha, and, eventually by his three sons, the former packaging supply salesman started the company, then known as Vista Industrial Packaging, in the family home. As the couple worked to grow their young company, it also expanded into its next home: a 10,square foot facility to serve the needs of a grand total of two clients.

By , the business had 25 associates in two locations, Columbus and Cincinnati. That same year, Jay Cahall passed away, and the responsibility of running the growing company — and keeping 25 people employed — fell on Martha and her boys.
