Do you want to log off? In this chapter, we will check how to customize the SAP layout based on user preferences and local requirements. In addition, you can customize various other attributes which will directly affect your interaction with SAP. The Layout Customize option can be accessed either through the application toolbar or through the SAP logon pad. Click the Icon at the extreme top left-hand side corner. A drop-down menu will appear. This chapter explains how to modify the user parameters such as personal data to communication data, time zone, date and time field format, attributes for printing, etc.
These options are already defaulted by SAP which the users can customize as per their preference. In addition, SAP also provides options to change your Personal Information such as first name, last name, email id, and mobile number of the specified user ID. These fields can be maintained in the Address tab. This chapter explains basic SAP navigations including the screens, menus, transaction codes, and buttons that you will use frequently. Standard Toolbar is located second from the top and directly below the Menu bar.
Command field is used to enter the Transaction codes that direct to a system task or application without using Menu paths. Command field can be opened and closed by using the icon on the right of the Command Bar i. It is used to display the name of the screen or application you are accessing. Title Bar is dynamic and changes from application to application. The Application Toolbar is located directly below the screen title. It contains buttons that duplicate functions available from the menu bar, but provides quicker access to some of the most commonly used functions for the current screen and system task.
The buttons available in the Application Toolbar changes from application to application as per the design. So they are not constant. As highlighted in the following screenshot, the buttons Help and Layout Menu are always available on every screen in the Application Toolbar. It displays important system messages such as errors and completion of transactions. It also displays other session information such as:. Once you have logged onto the application, the initial menu screen appears.
All the menus are displayed in the menu bar. Therefore, you will see different menus as you work on different tasks. Favorites Favorites are created by the users according to their preferences. All the transaction codes which the users have access to and used in regular day-to-day activities are usually added to this folder. SAP User Menu Content or the transaction codes in this menu are derived according to the roles and authorization given to a particular user.
All the transaction codes specified in a particular role given to a user will appear in the User Menu. ABAP is an event-driven programming language. User actions and system events control the execution of an application. Repository Browser is used to display a hierarchical structure of the components in a package.
Menu Painter is used to develop graphical user interfaces including menu bars and toolbars. Repository Information System contains information about development and runtime objects, such as data models, dictionary types and table structures, programs, and functions. Function Builder , which allows to create and maintain function groups and function modules.
Workbench Organizer , which maintains multiple development projects and manages their distribution. Classical reports do not allow interaction by the user; therefore, the basic list contains extensive information that the user must often sort through to find relevant data.
Interactive reports allow interaction by the user; therefore, the user can produce secondary, detailed lists of the basic list by choosing the relevant data and requesting more information. This is one of the reporting tools majorly used in the HR Module to pull data from relational databases.
The SAP database has to be filled before the end-users can start working over the business process for analyzing and reporting purpose. Various methods are used to transfer data into the system at various stages depending upon the complexity and data volume to be transferred.
Data can also be transferred through manual entries. SAP generates a variety of documents such as purchase orders, sales orders, invoices, pay-slips, etc.
You can take a print of these documents whenever required. The following illustration shows how the printing process works in a SAP system. After the user triggers the print process, the print requests are sent to the spool server, which contains the dialog and spool work processes required for the processing. Programs can be executed both online and in the background. Background jobs can also be scheduled to run at specific intervals.
Here change the number Retries parameter from 3 to 10 and change the retry retryInterval to around 10minutes. Conclusion Error in XI are inevitable, but when they occur we should be able to restart or resend the messages in a way that requires minimal human intervention, especially if the errors were due to system outage or system memory exceptions.
In this weblog I have tried to list out the most commonly occurring errors and the many ways of restarting these messages. Regards Sriram V. This is extremely helpful and provides the answers my client was looking for. Great blog! Cheers, Naveen Like 0 Share Right click and copy the link to share this comment Former Member March 10, at am Your blog was very helpful for me, but do you know, if there is any other way to restart automatically the fail message in the adapter RTW?
I memorize in a table the times, when particular business systems are expected to be out of order. There is no purpose to resend the message from the adapter if the receiver doesn't work. But I cannot select the messages in adapter by setting the system configuration.
Therefor I need a report or a fuction. If there is an AE error and the message is synchronous. How many times does it try and with what intervals. Xi will retry only message of QOS type asynchronous.
If a sychronous message fails, the error will propogated back to the call initiater. It helps a lot knowing how to handle the unsuccessful messages. I have a question regarding the status of the failed messages after the no. I think those messages will be deleted from the XI, is it correct? Can we write these old messages to any temp queue and when we know that the problem with the other end is corrected, can we resend them?
There messages will not be deleted, unless you have an archival job running that archives the messages. No, you cannot put them into a fail queue. I think you are familliar with MQSeries, where failed messages can be put into a Fail queue. In XI this is not possible. But failed messages can be manually restated at any time.
Actually messages will only be deleted or archived depending on what is configured when they have reached a final state, due to the fact that XI supports guaranteed delivery. The sample custom properties file and OCC credentials supplied here are for evaluation purposes only.
Aside from a default password, for example, the CORS settings are permissive to prevent access issues. We strongly recommend that a professional SAP Commerce Cloud administrator review these settings to suit your requirements, as they should not be used for production servers. Move the file custom. The contents of this file are listed at the end of this document for reference. Open a terminal or command prompt window inside the installer folder.
If you are using Windows, change. Using spartacussampledata and the full cx recipe, startup may take approximately 30 minutes, depending on your system. To do this, the backend must be configured with certain credentials. Felicito a los autores del blog por contenido y debates.
